Security in Travel

This project will seek to pilot a global, interoperable Known Traveller Digital Identity infrastructure in partnership with the Government of Canada and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This infrastructure will use Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to help government and industry leaders ensure easier and more secure international travel. Together with a community of travel security exports, policymakers, businesses and international organisations, the project will achieve this by:

Piloting the Known Traveller Digital Identity prototype:

Collaborating with the Governments of Canada, the Netherlands and other public and private sector partners to advance the implementation of a multi-country pilot of a Known Traveller Digital Identity prototype

Advancing relationships and designing tools to accelerate adoption and scale:

Building an implementation toolkit that will guide participating entities on introducing components of the Known Traveller Digital Identity into their operations; and expanding collaboration into broader geographic regions, establishing the institutional relationships for further pilots

Influencing global public policy:

Preparing recommendations for standards bodies such as ICAO to influence global policy-making

Exploring new business models:

Producing a portfolio of viable new business models for advancing the development and adoption of digital identity technologies for the travel security ecosystem

Developing advanced risk profiling to expedite the security process:

Outlining recommended frameworks for digital identity-enabled threat/risk modelling for developing individualised/risk-based security and border screening.
